Anne-Marie Speak Your Mind Tour

After touring with Ed Sheeran for over a year Anne Marie kicked off her ‘Speak Your Mind’ tour in Manchester on the 19th November atThe Academy. The singer had support act Mahalia who started the night. The singer sang all her new songs including her single I Wish I Missed My Ex. A lot of Mahalia’s songs were about boys that had hurt her which is very similar to Anne Marie’s topic of songs

Anne Marie opened her set with hit single Ciao Adios which immediately got the crowd energised and ready for the show ahead which was then followed by one of her album tracks Cry. The singer had artistic staging with different screens for each song she performed and also had a live band with her which she showed a strong connection with.

Throughout the set, Anne-Marie sang multiple singles such as Heavy, Perfect to me and Alarm. As well as singles Anne-Marie performed her entire album for the first-time performing songs such as Can I Get Your Number andMachine.

Anne-Marie also expressed her personality greatly on stage by having chats with the crowd about her outfit choices and her dreams of having a game of bingo inserted into her shows. It created a connection between artist and audience by making the show just a little more personal.

Other than her album tracks Anne-Marie also sang one of her older songs that were released before the album called Gentleman which will have been nostalgic for her older fans and also an insight into her career for new listeners.

Before her encore, Anne-Marie performed her hit song with Clean Bandit, Rockabye which built the anticipation for her last songs more. The encore consisted of two songs, 2002 and her song with Marshmellow, Friends. The last two songs were upbeat and lively which ended the show on a high and got everyone in the room singing and dancing.
